I am heading to Denver to attend a meeting of the House Health and Environment Committee this Thursday, February 3rd at 1:30 PM in the Legal Services Building. There, House Bill 1082 will be heard proposing to stop emissions testing in Larimer and Weld counties. You might know the program, it just started up December 1, 2010. You see, there are a group of people here in NOCO that think there is no air quality problem and that we all breath different air than the people of Denver. No brown cloud there. I wonder what kind of glasses people wear that removes the haze from our sky, the one that blurs the foothills so they look like a green smear on the horizon rather than individual trees? Don’t they see what I do? Or worse yet, why don’t they seem to care? Well I DO!!! So I will travel to Denver and make an appearance, maybe even hug a tree before I leave to get in touch with my mother nature. Can I deal with making sure my vehicles aren’t spewing contaminants into the air? Yes. I am very fortunate to live in the best city in one of the best states in one of the best countries in the world. I can sacrifice twenty five dollars and thirty minutes of my time every two years and do do my small part.
